Frequently Asked Questions

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

Each brain is different and requires a different amount of nutrition to perform at its best, so by taking 3 capsules every single day you can start to see results in as little as 3 months. When prescribed Memory Health in an 18-month clinical trial, every patient maintained or improved their memory.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

The brain requires ongoing nutrition to function at its best, which is why you will only get optimal results by taking 3 pills every single day. The results are cumulative, so if you stop taking Memory Health you will likely notice a regression in your brain’s function.

WHAT IF I HAVE DIFFICULTY SWALLOWING PILLS?

The soft gels are smaller than a US dime and very easy to swallow. They can also be blended in a smoothie if needed.

WHAT IF I AM ALLERGIC TO FISH?

The Memory Health supplement doesn’t actually contain any fish or shell fish, but rather it contains specific nutrients that can be found in those foods. The carotenoids in our supplement are harvested from the marigold flower and the fish oil we use is an extremely high-quality omega-3 oil. Fish and shellfish allergies are generally triggered by the proteins in the fish and these are completely absent from any high-quality fish oil.

WHY IS YOUR FISH OIL BETTER?

Unfortunately, there are many low-grade fish oils on the market that deliver little to no results. Memory Health delivers the highest quality, all-natural Omega-3 Fish Oil. It includes 150 mg EPA (Eicosatetraenoic acid) and 500 mg DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids that are found in cold water fish; we personally source our fish from the waters in Northern Scandinavia. Both EPA and DHA are vital nutrients for maintaining healthy brain function and have been linked to healthy aging throughout life. Most importantly, they show promising results in cognitive functions for those with Alzheimer’s Disease. At Memory Health, we combine the benefits of our high-grade fish oil with 3 key nutrients found in the eyes and brain called Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and Meso-Zeaxanthin. It is this specific combination of nutrients that makes Memory Health more than just a fish oil.

MY LOVED ONE HAS ALZHEIMER’S AND IS PROGRESSING. WILL THIS HELP HIM OR HER?

Every individual is different and Memory Health is not a cure. When prescribed Memory Health in a clinical trial, Alzheimer’s patients all maintained or improved their memory over the 18 months of the study. It was further identified that Alzheimer’s patients who were prescribed Memory Health maintained cognitive abilities and quality of life, including functional benefits in memory, sight, and mood. The supplement is entirely all natural and nutritional, and has no additives or preservatives. In other words, there are no harmful or dangerous side effects associated, only positive nutritional benefits for memory, cognition and brain health.

MY MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER PASSED AWAY FROM ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE. MY MOTHER HAS ONSET. I DON’T WANT THE DISEASE; WILL THIS HELP ME?

At Memory Health we are strong believers in nutritional supplementation as a form of prevention, especially if Alzheimer’s Disease runs in your family. The simple fact is we are all living longer and our diets don’t provide us with the proper nutrients for sustained brain health. The likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s Disease doubles every 5 years after you reach 65, and the genes you inherit from your parents greatly contribute to your risk. Memory Health offers important key nutrients to your brain in a concentrated and controlled dose. We recommend it for anyone looking to support their brain health as they age, but particularly for those who are at a higher risk of Alzheimer’s Disease.

High risk individuals include people with a family history of Alzheimer’s Disease, people who have suffered a head injury, people with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, and people with lifestyle factors such as smoking, obesity, or high alcohol intake.

HOW WILL THIS INTERACT WITH NAMENDA AND ARICEPT?

Namenda Solution (medically known as Memantine) is used to treat moderate to severe dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease. Donepezil is also used to treat confusion related to Alzheimer’s disease. Of note, there have been no reported adverse effects or related issues identified in patients with Alzheimer’s disease on the above medications and the use of Memory Health. In fact, the patients in the clinical trial that were on the Memory Health supplement were also on standard medical care including Memantine with no reported issues. Biologically, this makes perfect sense that no issues have been reported because Memory Health is 100% all-natural and nutritional.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE WITH DEMENTIA – NOT ALZHEIMER’S?

To clarify, this study represents a positive step forward for both dementia and Alzheimer’s research. We have found the supplement beneficial for both Alzheimer’s and dementia patients and would recommend it to those with either affliction. The Memory Health supplement is an all-natural, nutritional formula that is proven to support memory and cognitive function, with further functional benefits identified in quality of life, sight, and mood.

HOW DOES ONE DEVELOP ALZHEIMER’S - IS IT SOLELY HEREDITARY OR CAN IT BE ENVIRONMENTAL (OR BOTH)?

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that has a number of predisposing risk factors including age, which is the biggest one. The likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s Disease doubles every 5 years after you reach 65. The genes you inherit from your parents can contribute to your risk. People who have suffered a head injury are also at increased risk. Lifestyle factors are proven to contribute to risk of Alzheimer’s too – these include smoking, obesity, and high alcohol intake. Risk is also significantly increased in those with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It has been said that while genetics ‘loads the gun’, it’s our lifestyle that pulls the trigger.

WHICH FOODS ARE BEST FOR PREVENTING ALZHEIMER’S?

We advise our patients to increase their fish intake (particularly oily fish) and follow good dietary habits such as the Mediterranean style diet, which includes a high vegetable intake. Vitamins and minerals, especially those with antioxidant effects such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and selenium are thought to be of benefit but larger trials are needed to confirm benefit. Iron, copper and zinc also have a role. Fruit and vegetables are the best natural source of these nutrients, such as berries, oranges, grapefruit and apples, which are sweet but have a low glycemic index. Leafy green or cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, spinach, kale, dandelion greens) as well as other vegetables such as onions, carrots, tomatoes or squash are full of vitamins, minerals, fiber and disease-fighting nutrients that are needed for a healthy nervous system. Extra-virgin olive oil is recommended, as it features anti-aging nutrients such as Omega-3s and Vitamin E. A simple rule to follow is to make every meal a rainbow!

Over 15 years of scientific study and research has proven the key role of nutrition in the human brain and how nutrients have the potential to impact cognition. We have identified specific nutrients that may have a role in improving the level of function in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The dietary components that we are examining include Xanthophyll Carotenoids and Omega-3 fatty acids, offered in the form of the Memory Health supplement.

CAN YOUR DIET MAKE YOU MORE PRONE TO ALZHEIMER’S?

We believe so because there is a significantly increased occurrence of Alzheimer’s disease in patients with a raised Body Mass Index (BMI). Vascular risk factors are heightened by diets high in sugars and processed carbohydrates as well as high calorie intake, central obesity and high alcohol intake. Foods that are not recommended include fast food, fried food such as fish and chips, fatty foods such as red meat, pork and high-fat dairy, and, most of all, processed foods: foods loaded with trans fats and refined sugar.
