I never thought I’d learn so much about cancer. Until I did. I received my diagnosis in 2018 after finding a lump in my left breast. I’m one of the lucky ones, who went through my treatment plan of surgery, chemotherapy (Hello, chemo brain!), and radiation and now I have a very low risk of recurrence.
The cancer diagnosis and treatment journey were excruciating in so many ways, physically and mentally. Still, as an entrepreneur, I had no choice but to power through to the best of my ability. I worked all through my eight-month treatment journey.
During online research about cancer (Dr. Google IS my friend!), I read about “chemo brain,” the cloudy thinking, memory problems, and mental fog that happen due to the flooding of toxic chemicals through your body. It sounded familiar, and I added it to the list of side effects I would need to manage during and after treatment.
Unfortunately, there’s also this thing called “post-chemo cognitive impairment” or “cancer-related cognitive change.” It’s an impairment in cognitive functioning caused by the drugs, cancer, or even another disease being treated; secondary medical conditions like hypertension or depression; and depression or anxiety related to cancer or treatment. Experts say this negative impact on the brain can last far beyond treatment.
I also learned that the chemotherapy medications most likely to cause chemo brain include Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide), Adriamycin (doxorubicin), Adrucil (5-FU), and Taxol (paclitaxel). Yay, me! I got six cycles of Cytoxan, and its effect on my thinking (and my hair!) was noticeable both during and after treatment. It became harder to focus for extended periods and more challenging to recall names and words.
When I first discovered the Memory Health brain health supplement, I was immediately interested in learning more. I was just a few months out of treatment and was looking for ways to support my recovery from cancer treatment physically and mentally.
For my physical recovery, I rewarded myself for getting through the experience with an indoor exercise bike and began eating a vegetarian diet. For my cognitive recovery, I began paying more attention to my sleep patterns and stress levels while adding a daily packet of Memory Health supplements to my morning regimen.
After having a cancer experience, I don’t decide what supplements and medications to take lightly anymore. I dug deep into the ingredients in the Memory Health product. I found study after study with demonstrated results showing enhanced cognition among those who took these ingredients in a supplement form, whether they were young and healthy or older and experiencing cognitive decline. These were scientific studies, double-blind research from trustworthy, completely unrelated institutions to the Memory Health organization. That got my attention.
The nutrients in this patented supplement have been scientifically proven in double-blind, placebo-controlled studies to improve cognitive function, memory, sight, focus, and mood. You can find out more about that here: The Science Behind Memory Health®
My husband and I began taking Memory Health in 2019 and have been taking it daily ever since. As an entrepreneur who is hustling to grow a digital marketing agency, I believe that this supplement helps me maintain better focus and recall during my business day. And since my mother and grandmother have both had Alzheimer’s disease, the fact that Memory Health® has received a U.S. Patent to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s gives me peace.
Memory Health® was tested and proven in double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials, becoming the first supplement to receive a patent for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative disease, specifically Alzheimer's and dementia. It has been clinically proven to improve cognitive functions and memory. Other tested benefits include improvement in sight, focus, clarity, and mood.
